Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things. Mt 25:21

Small Thing Matters

It is natural for a person who works for an individual or a corporate to expect a promotion or reward for the service he renders to them. But the employer most likely expects and demands great targets to be achieved before granting promotion or reward. In the case of God’s kingdom what is most important is faithfulness and sincerity over the responsibility one is assigned with, however small it may be. Jesus explained in the Parable of the Talents: "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Mt 25:21).  The Lord knows what we are capable of handling and that is why He has assigned us with that. May we be sincere with the things that God has entrusted us with so that He may be pleased, and applaud us with the new commitment.

Abba, Thank You for entrusting us with small things. Let Your Spirit enable us to be sincere over the small things so that we may receive your approval and applause. In Jesus’ Most Blessed Name, Amen.
