The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom 14:17

The True Joy

There are various levels of happiness one can achieve, by giving oneself the pleasures of life. Most often they do not fill the heart or give the best satisfaction, for they are temporal and carnal. As we are, we have the spiritual component within us, and only the joy that comes by being filled with the Holy Spirit alone can keep our soul and spirit complete. Hence we need to give heed to the advice given by Paul, the pioneer evangelist, and strive for that experience: "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Rom 14:17). May we passionately thirst for this spiritual infilling of the kingdom of God so that we may truly experience the glimpse of the heavenly joy.

Abba, thank You for showering Your Spirit upon us. May our souls and spirit be filled by the joy in the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
