Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You.” Jn 17:1

Gaze at Heaven

People look at the sky for various reasons; for scientific research, to enjoy the view of the vastness of the galaxy, and for the relaxation from stress and boredom. But we, as Christians should look up to heaven for one particular reason that the Creator lives there and awaits us for praise and prayers. Jesus, in one of the most important moments of His life on earth, definitely gazed at heaven, the place He came from and the place His father abides; “Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: ‘Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You.’” (Jn 17:1). May we cultivate the habit of gazing at the heaven and declare to the world that our Father resides there and listens to our prayers.

Abba, thank You for inviting us to gaze at the heaven as we pray. Let Your Spirit make us rejoice in lifting up our eyes and prayers. In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
