“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Mt 11:28

Need of Comfort

Be it the head of the state or a simple laborer, everyone has some form of burden that makes them grow tired and weary. In human life it is almost impossible to totally escape and free ourselves from the heaviness of responsibility. We do not have to keep on carrying the burden, for we do have the right for rest, relaxation and comfort. But where do we have to look for to receive such relief, but for the One who has promised that for us. Yes, Our dear Lord and Master is kind and considerate enough to consider our need, as He himself experienced the pain of carrying: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Mt 11:28). May we approach Him confidently and enjoy the promised rest, as He alone knows the weight of our burden.

Abba, Thank You for Your Son’s promise of rest. Let Your Spirit make us feel comforted and consoled in our journey of life, In Jesus’ Most Caring Name, Amen.
