I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. . . But say the word, and let my servant be healed. Lk 7:7

His Word Heals

The man who served in the worldly realm knew the power of the word that is commanded by the one who holds authority. Hence when his servant was in need of healing that could come from a person who holds spiritual authority, he sent his friends to receive the word that made the man whole and healed: “And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, ‘Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed.’” (Lk 7:6-7) He humbled and surrendered to the spiritual authority of Jesus, by accepting his unworthiness that won the appreciation of his great faith by the Lord. May we never feel ashamed of our sinfulness, but rather look at the mercy of God, that would definitely forgive and heal us of all the ailments in the body, soul and spirit.

Abba, Thank You for going to heal us by Your Son’s Word. Let Your Spirit make us believe in the power of the word that will heal us, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
