And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

Desire His Filling

We possess so many things personally that try to take time and space in our lives. A realization should come about the emptiness that we have, despite having things around us. The world suggests us to fill ourselves more with their products, both good and evil. Any number of people are led astray by the promising advertisements of this marketing world. We are spiritual beings who can never receive full contentment, unless and until we are filled by His Spirit. The ordinary people who Jesus chose enjoyed the special filling on the day of Pentecost, where they were hiding and praying in fear: “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4). Only realization about the meaninglessness of the world’s filling would lead us to request for the filling of the Holy Ghost, who would transform our lives with courage, confidence, and hope. May we sincerely thirst that He may shower His Spirit upon us, as He did with His apostles, Peter and Paul.

Abba, Thank You for creating a desire for the filling of Your Holy Spirit. Let Your Spirit consider our need and fill us abundantly, In Jesus’ Most Generous Name, Amen.
