“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” Is 40:8

His Word Lasts

While we live in time, God lives in timeless eternity. We calculate the span of everything by measuring the spread of its time, be it a flower, grass, bird, animal, human being or any other creature living on earth. The galaxy, sun and the moon, and the planets we see or cannot see; everything is created, time-bound by the One who is never limited by time, and that is why He says “I AM,” while we (he, she, it, they, you) are limited by time and space. These have come, lived and gone completing the purpose for which they are created. Emperors, philosophers, scientists, scholars, revolutionaries, peasants and great kingdoms and ancient civilisations, architectures—everything has disappeared in their own time, swept away by nature, by war or by the new that replaced and removed the trace of it. What then stays, what then lasts and remains, what can mankind depend upon? It is nothing but the WORD of God who alone lives in timeless eternity. This is the marvellous revelation that gives us hold and grip with eternity, as David depended on that and rejoiced: “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Is 40:8). Let’s praise God for allowing us to have communion with His Word that is eternal and everlasting, so that we may enjoy blessing from above everyday.

Abba, Thank You for giving us the privilege of being in touch with Your Word that endures and stands. Let Your Spirit make us be nourished by that daily and maintain our union with eternity, In Jesus’ Most eternal Name, Amen.
