The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Dan 6:

Practice Makes Perfection

If we truly observe and study the highest performance of scholars, musicians, and athletes, we can find the practice of rigorous discipline in their respective fields. Discipline, practice, and perseverance alone have taken them to the heights they achieved in their desired fields. The same principles apply in the field of spiritual realm also. A simple look at the life of Prophet Daniel reveals his adherence to the practice of prayer, faith and worship to the One God whom he desired to please even at the very cost of his own life. When his enemies set a trap for his life over his lifetime commitment of regular worship, Daniel disregarded the fear of punishment and chose to remain faithful to usual and standard manner of prayer. This audacity of the exercise of faith received favor from the Most High God even in the midst of hungry lions in the den, that surprised the king: “And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, ‘Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?’” (Dan 6:20) May we hold fast to the disciplines we have in our life so that God may guide us and lead us into the desired perfection in any fields of our lives.

Abba, Thank You for setting the example of Daniel to adhere to disciplined prayer. Let Your Spirit make us endure all the trials by persevering in the exercise of faith, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
