And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 2 Ch 20:3

Seek The Lord

Observe the children, then you learn about the amount of principles that we need to practice in the spiritual life. For every need, fear and discomfort, they immediately turn to their parents, report about it, and readily follow all that they are told and receive abundant care and protection in return for being dependent and for the trust. The word of God gives us best examples that we need to observe and follow, as the one in the life of Jehoshaphat. The report about the imminent danger from the great multitude of enemies against him, made Jehoshaphat fear, but he immediately ran to God along with his citizens, just like a child to the loving parent, and declared his dependence on God: “And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.” (2 Ch 20:3) Then he poured out his heart; “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (2 Ch 20:12) He enjoyed an unimaginable victory over his enemies after he put into practice, in obedience, all what the Lord had commanded him. May we have this attitude of faith and dependence upon God, that would deliver us from all that are opposing us in the spiritual journey of victory and success.

Abba, Thank You for setting the example of Jehoshaphat to be followed and imitated. Let Your Spirit make us seek You unceasingly in times of trouble so that we may receive orders from You and obey, In Jesus’ Most Protecting Name, Amen.
