The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” Jn 1:29

Revelation Is Declared

Many have the question regarding the very existence and purpose of their life on earth, but few have the privilege of knowing that and fulfilling it in their life-time. John the Baptist, who took up the attire, food and accommodation suitable to his vocation, declared his mission: ‘He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”’ (Jn 1:23)  And he went on explaining the necessity of revealing to people the One who is sent for them to be saved: “John answered them, ‘I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know.’” (Jn 1:26) John went one step ahead towards heralding the presence of God’s own Son standing amidst them: “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! …And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.’” (Jn 1:29,..34) The climax of the revelations in the history of Israel and that of the mankind is the news of the arrival of the Messiah, who finally is going to set free the human race from the age-old bondage of sin and slavery to the enemy. Knowledge about this greatest revelation is still the most profound in the life of anyone till today, that sets one free to enjoy salvation and the embrace into His Kingdom. May God grant us His exceeding mercy that the world may know, believe and benefit from this greatest mystery.
