Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. . . Eph 4:29

Words of Encouragement

One of the things that makes us unique and different from the rest of the entire creation, is our capacity to speak. Speaking enables us to have life that is much easier and better, and this we can practically realize when we live in a foreign land, where the language is not understandable to us. The hardest thing in life is not learning a new language, but making the right use of language. Language helps us

have understanding, establish peace, and spread joy and contentment, but language is also capable of harming good relationships, crushing people’s right for freedom and growth. Ordinary, day-to-day life can be better and beautiful for us and others when we cultivate and spread the right words that lift, sooth, nourish, strengthen, comfort, give hope and encourage. Paul invites us to be responsible in the use of words, that we only choose words that build and sustain others: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” (Eph 4:29) May God give us love and patience so that we may utter only the right words and spread comfort and confidence in others.

Abba, Thank You for inviting us to make the best use of the right words that build. Let Your Spirit transform our tongue so that we pronounce blessings and benefit others in every circumstance, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
