But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Ps 22:3

Sacrifice of Praise

Nothing can be compared to the beauty of the sincerest words of appreciation and gratitude one offers in return to the benefits that one received and enjoyed from the other. The greatest praise should be rightfully expressed to the One who purposefully created us and continues to keep us in existence, out of His pure expression of abundant love. The meditation of the shepherd-king is really noteworthy, for he pondered upon the greatest love and benevolence that he experienced in daily life: “What shall I render unto the Lord For all his benefits toward me?” (Ps 116:12), and the spontaneous response that flowed from his heart was an unending praise of sacrifice that is truly befitting and honouring his Creator: “I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the Lord.” (Ps 116:17). The revelation he shares in another hymn should make us know the secret of making our Maker being present in Israel by offering the habitat of praise: “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (Ps 22:3). May we believe and realize the abiding presence of the living God in our midst by truly rendering the sacrifice of praise.

Abba, Thank You for accepting and abiding in the sacrifice of praise. Let Your Spirit lift our spirit to praise You high and high, In Jesus’ Most Honorable Name, Amen.
