Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. Dt 13:4

Belong to Him

There are images that better explain the bond and relationship between God and His people, and the image of the shepherd and his flock is the best among them. David, who tendered the flock in his care, knew the attachment that was involved in the field, enjoys claiming us as the flock belonging to God: “For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice!” (Ps 95:7) The receiving of water, grass and shelter that the flock needs and enjoys, depend on certain conditions, and the same is true for the believers: “Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.” (Dt 13:4) May we, who got the fortune of being under this Shepherd, follow the norms that need following—walking after, fearing with reverence, being mindful of his laws and keen to hear and abide by His guiding voice, serving His purpose and literally clinging onto Him; this alone makes us ensure the perfect safety and complete providence. Carelessness or intentional violation would endanger the very existence; hence, let us practice this principles in our daily walk of faith.

Abba, Thank You for explaining to us the safety regulations to be followed through the journey. Let Your Spirit imprint them on our heart and mind so that we may never be swayed from them, In Jesus’ Most Guarding Name, Amen.
