Listen to counsel and accept discipline, That you may be wise the rest of your days. Pro 19:20

Guided By Wisdom

Learning is one of the most important aspects of personal growth. We need learning not only to gain skill or knowledge for acquiring a job or position, but also for leading a life well guarded by proven principles. There are people among us who are more gifted, not so much in advanced technical skills, but possess rich experiences that are gained from living their own lives in time and space, from the successes and failures of their own and that of others. Neglecting this vast wisdom that is available to us, can make one feel arrogant and proud, which in turn may end up in failure and defeat. Hence Solomon, who received wisdom as a gift from God, reminds us of the indispensable need for right advice: “Listen to counsel and accept discipline, That you may be wise the rest of your days.” (Pro 19:20) Jesus also has promised us of the counsellor who supplies us with any and all knowledge needed for speaking, living and making decisions: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” (Jn 14:26) May we sincerely thirst for counsel and disciple that guide and lead us to the paths of victory and peace.

Abba, Thank You for instructing us to search for counsel that disciplines. Let Your Spirit be our personal counsellor and lead us into the way we should walk to be wise, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
