Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Pro 9:10

There is a whole lot of difference between knowledge and wisdom. The entire effort of the human race is geared towards strengthening the muscle of knowledge that can be developed by mere human efforts. The scope and prospect of educational institutions aim at making students climb the heights of knowledge by numerous and various ways. But the realm of wisdom is entirely different, and outside the reach of human effort or manipulation; it is provided to the one who draws near the source of it and reverently approaches with humility and fear. Solomon was intelligent enough to understand the need of wisdom and prayed for that: “The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom. So God replied, ‘Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life or wealth or the death of your enemies —I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have!’” (1 Kings 3:10-12) May we follow the footprint of the wise-man and receive wisdom that is far more superior to any worldly knowledge, for he instructs: “Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.” (Pro 9:10)

Abba, Thank You for showing us the path that leads to the source of wisdom. Let Your Spirit make us fear and humble before You to receive the capacity for good judgement, In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
