We know that none of the God-begotten makes a practice of sin—fatal sin. The God-begotten are also the God-protected. The Evil One can’t lay a hand on them. 1Jn

Practice Discipleship Regularly

Excellence in any discipline of life needs regular practice and perseverance. The moment we enroll or sign up for desired sports, music or dance, the provision for assistance is made available. Discipleship is signing up with God for the chosen life, constantly monitored and guided by His Son’s teaching and Spirit’s indwelling. God always plays His part perfect and needs our willing cooperation in achieving success in our vocation. Hence, the beloved apostle, John declares of the new nature that demands new practice, lest we fall prey to the temptation of the enemy: “We know that none of the God-begotten makes a practice of sin—fatal sin. The God-begotten are also the God-protected. The Evil One can’t lay a hand on them.” (1 Jn 5:18) Regular practice with the divine vocation make us strong enough to defeat the enemy who looks for a least opportunity to make us fall. “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up.” (1 Peter 5:8), advices Peter from his experience of fall and redemption. May we enthusiastically take the challenge and set records of victory with the support from God.

Abba, Thank You for giving alert to stay awake and practice the virtues. Let Your Spirit constantly encourage us in achieving the goal of success, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
