But God had his eye on the leaders of the Jews, and the work wasn’t stopped until a report could reach Darius and an official reply be returned. Ezra 5:5

He Watches Over

Children feel safe and secure while they are under the purview of the parents, and proceed with play or any activity confidently. The knowledge a believer should have, however tall he has grown, is the ever abiding presence of God that watches over him always. Having been under the watch of the divine stare, can be the rarest privilege one can enjoy as an object of His marvelous craft of creation. The psalmist expresses his astonishment of the amazing watching over of God, and composed: “He will never slumber nor sleep; he is the Guardian-God for his people, Israel.” (Ps 121:4) The restoration of the temple resumed under the watchful care of the Lord, and no-one can explain what great protection that meant: “But God had his eye on the leaders of the Jews, and the work wasn’t stopped until a report could reach Darius and an official reply be returned.” (Ezra 5:5) May we entrust ourselves and the entire undertakings that we attempt, by surrendering unto the watchful care of the Guardian we are gifted with—God.

Abba, Thank You for the ever-present watching over us. Let Your Spirit make us be aware of this privilege of Your Protection and praise You continuously, In Jesus’ Most Protecting Name, Amen.
