Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. Jn 17:17

Be Ye Consecrated

Certain types of discipline and training are required for people who opt to serve the nation by joining the army. In a similar way, holiness is a prerequisite for anyone who undertakes the ministry of God’s kingdom. The discipline that is expected of a believer, who is set apart for His Kingdom-service, can only be done through the application of His sacred word. Just like fire that purifies gold to be used for making ornaments, the truth of His holy word does the job of cleansing and sanctifying, as prayed by the Master Teacher, Jesus: “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” (Jn 17:17) Daily reading, mindful reflection and careful application of the Holy Word of God make a person pure enough to be used as a vessel for His service. May the Lord bless us that our hearts may burn with passion for the truth that removes from us the dirt of sin, as David endeared: “Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end.” (Ps 119:111-112)

Abba, Thank You for the provision of truth that cleanses us of our sinfulness. Let Your Spirit make us desire more sanctity so that our lives be consecrated to Your Service, In Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
