For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:14

Learn to Surf

The water sport that a few have passion for is surfing, that needs speed and swiftness to take the best advantage of the deep face of a moving wave, that launches the surfer safe to the shore by the performance of skill and movement. The waves that come shall not be permitted to swallow us up, so we need to know how to handle the surf by adjusting and constantly moving along with alert and calm. Waves definitely keep coming; never fear but balance with the surfboard of grace, without slightest fear. Christian life can be compared to one of surfing, where mighty wave of sin keeps coming to make us fall and get hurt. However, we can still handle when we understand the rules of waves that have potency and possibility of make us fall. Carefully coming under grace is the highest and the best option that God has provided each of us to ensure complete safety and protection. Today’s lesson of spiritual surfing from Paul, who powerfully mastered this game, offers one of the most trusted: “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” (Rom 6:14) The knowledge that we should keep in mind is about the caution we receive about the wave of sin, that might want to take dominion; that is when you just surf and be a best rider, taking advantage of the provision of grace that would take you to the safe shore.

Abba, Thank You for reminding us of the wave of sin that tries to have dominion in our life. Let Your Spirit hold us and lead us through the current of grace, that always protects and leads us safe in the surf of faith, In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
