do not let your hearts become hard as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert. Ps 95:8

Learn Absolute Obedience

Whatever talent the pilot may have, it is always important that he carefully listens and obeys the command that comes to him for safe landing or take off. In spiritual life, too, the most important thing is hearing and absolutely obeying the words that are been told towards our own advantage. Events of the bible are recorded so that we may benefit by taking lessons from the mistakes of other people, thereby we take the right course. Disobedience as it may appear is not an ordinary sin that God might overlook. Event that happened in the life of Adam and Eve, or Lot’s wife are perfect examples that highlight the consequence of disobedience. Hence, God pleads with us with the greatest desire to bless and lead us, one more time warns us: “do not let your hearts become hard as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert.” (Ps 95:8) Our talents, the job we hold, the money we have saved, the influences we have, and the new partners who have joined us, may make us think too big to the extent that we neglect the gentle voice from God. Beware of the kinder voice of God, that warns us, that we may inherit the blessing He wants to bestow upon us.

Abba, Thank You so much for gently giving us corrections that we need to take. Let Your Spirit give us enough light so that we may realize our mistakes, and accept corrections, taking full advantage of Your Word that comes through Your own servants, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
