The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Is 9:2

Assurance of Light

You cannot find a single student of science, who does not know who invented the electric bulb. People got startled at the invention that brightened their night, but in turn made them slaves who needed to take night shifts, as work extended beyond their imagination of the new form of slavery. However, the Creator of light, whose Son declared Himself as Light, centuries before His arrival, His prophet got the spark of revelation, and proclaimed to mankind of the presence of the True Light amidst mankind in the form of the Son: “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” (Is 9:2) Prophesy as is the word of God, is eternal; hence look for the clue in the revealed words—darkness, land of the shadow of death, and the shining light. What can be compared to the great darkness than the knowledgeless-ness or sightless-ness of a group of people, who live in a land where they may name their land after a light, while in fact they are the ones who need light the most; and there, upon them, the light will suddenly appear. May we humble ourselves before God, that He may heal the spiritual blindness of the so-called arrogant, and make them see the True Light.

Abba, Thank You for the promise of Your Light amidst the people who live in the shadow of death. Let Your Spirit wake us up to see the light that You sent from above, and worship Your Son, the Eternal Light, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
