See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. Is 49:16

Remembered, So Remember

Memory is the concern of everybody when they look for purchasing any high-tech electronic gadgets, as they are getting weaker in remembering. God who created everything that we see and cannot see, declares the details of all our names and even the things that we pursue right now, as in the case of Jerusalem: “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” (Is 49:16) As descendants of Adam, we have an astonishingly amazing memory, for he had named all creatures one by one, and did not exhaust names, nor did he give the same name to two. But with the deception of the enticement of the enemy to desire the forbidden fruit, yielding to the offer of the woman, forgetting captured him, just for a moment, and snatched away from him his privileged position and gift. From then, forgetting God’s command became a kind of a sickness, as disobedience got inscribed in him. The laws of God that He Himself inscribed on the stone tablets, though they were condensed, the people failed to remember and practice; hence, God took a new way to provide them with remembering by inscribing His laws on human hearts. “‘But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,’ declares the LORD, ‘I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’” (Her 31:33) May we be ever grateful to God for remembering us completely, and extend gratitude by remembering Him and His gracious acts towards us, by carefully obeying His words that refreshes and keeps our memories in tact.

Abba, Thank You for remembering us every moment, including our names, and the activities that we undertake at this very moment. Let Your Spirit rekindle the passion for remembering Your Laws that are inscribed in us, that we may remember more and more to obey You, In Jesus’ Most Obedient Name, Amen.
