Jerusalem, stand up! Shine! Your new day is dawning. The glory of the LORD shines brightly on you. Is 60:1

Wake-Up Call

A provision, once that was said to be the luxury of the elite is now made available even for the ordinary, and that is called wake-up call, meaning a phone call made at a prearranged time in order to wake someone up; and another explanation says, a thing that alerts people to an unsatisfactory situation and prompts them to remedy it. As human, it is natural that we get tired, after making the spiritual journey of life, and not knowing the exact time of our waking up or boarding in. In such circumstance, God, who is the author and the maker of each of us, takes up the duty of waking us up, however tired or distracted we may be, for He makes His light shine upon the face of the one who He has chosen to lead nations and to see the glory of God: “Jerusalem, stand up! Shine! Your new day is dawning. The glory of the LORD shines brightly on you.” (Is 60:1) Moses pleaded with God to see the glimpse of the glory of God, to which He responded that he may not be able to withstand His majestic glory; however, He revealed to him what he could bear. Elisha pleaded with the great prophet Elijah to drop upon him the mantle and to which he added a condition and with that, the portion of the cloak fell upon him, that he received and performed wonders such as dividing the waters. May we be always ready to respond to the grace of God that wakes us up, to receive the glory that comes to embrace us, with full of awe, trembling and worship.

Abba, Thank You for waking us up to welcome the glory that has been assigned for us to wear in front of peoples. Let Your Spirit give us humility enough to come before You in awe, trembling and adoration to receive the shining grace that You reserved for Your chosen one, despite the unworthiness, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
