For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. Is 9:6

Rule of Jesus

The vocation of a prophet is unique and special, but most often he is considered to be strange and naive, for the vocabularies he chooses and the sentences he utters always make people confused, since they cannot comprehend the realm he is in, and the time he mentions, and the message he says is definitely to happen sometimes centuries later. To the people who sincerely awaited the birth of the Messiah—who would save them from sin and from the savage ruler?—Isaiah, the anointed prophet of God, declared: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Is 9:6) Centuries later, when the right time came, the fulfillment of the prophesy got its completion and effect, with the announcement from heaven by His herald, Archangel Gabriel: “She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, ‘Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus. He will be great, be called “Son of the Highest.” The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David; He will rule Jacob’s house forever—no end, ever, to his kingdom.’” (Luke 1:30-33) Living in the edge of the end of age, when the culmination and climax of prophesies about the Son, whose rule we are awaiting is getting unfolded, unseen, unpredicted, would surprise both the rulers and the ruled, for His Rule is going to come sure and soon. Let’s believe, as He comes that He would definitely consider His poor servant, who struggles with unemployment and uncertainty, at least with the least job.

Abba, Thank You for the prophesies that will come true, as You have announced. Let Your Spirit give us enough faith to believe in the promises of the prophesy, and be consoled, relieved of all unnecessary fears and worries that trouble and disturb our faith, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
