In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans

Our Greatest Intercessor

What we cannot achieve by our best efforts, the intercession of someone else achieves that for us. This had been our experience, right from our childhood: the mother intercedes for the child, to receive a benefit or favor from the father, and she does it perfectly and wins for us the request or the demand that we need. In a similar way, even though we may be clear what we need, but we yet do not know how to phrase the prayer, to the Heavenly Father, to request in prayer and enjoy that. GOD, our beloved Father, wants us to have our hearts’ desire, when the need is true and genuine, and that is why He Himself has arranged the greatest intercessor, who would take our prayer order, and place it before heavenly altar, and supply us with the satisfactory reply, in the form of gifts that we need. Paul, from his abundant spiritual experiences, convincingly gives us a lesson that we need to take and keep in mind, so that we can enjoy the truly blessed life: “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” (Rom 8:26) Bible also tells us that the Son of GOD, our Master and Messiah, also does the holy job of intercession, by being at the righthand side of the Father:

“But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, ‘Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.’” (Acts 7:55-56)

“Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.” (Rom 8:34)

“that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places” (Eph 1:20)

Jesus also taught the importance of interceding for others, as part of our spiritual ministry, in the parable of the friend who knocked at the friend’s house for bread, for the friend who had come to him, and he had nothing to offer him; hence he trusted in the friend whose house he knocked and received the needed bread for the other friend. So, let’s make Holy Spirit, our prayer partner, and enjoy His holy company in our prayer relationship with GOD, and live a victorious Christian life, that benefits us, and all those who live around us.

ABBA, thank YOU for the arrangement of our greatest intercessor. Let Your Holy Spirit hold our hands in our weakness, and groan on behalf of us, and strengthen us, lift us, and stride the walk of faith, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
