In You, O Lord, do I put my trust and confidently take refuge; let me never be put to shame or confusion! Ps 71:1

Trust and Refuge

Trusting God as it may seem is no an ordinary thing, it would come so easy for the one who does not have anything else to hold on to. Right from the child we are indirectly giving a signal to children, that we have to depend upon ourselves, and that’s why it is very important that we need to study well, and even before that we have to make research as to what course should he take, so that by then he or she completes, the job prospective and salary would be high, and the good future is assured and guaranteed. You may go to church, read bible, learn to pray, and cultivate faith etc.—they are considered unimportant and unnecessary. What an ego- ”edging God out"; then He would teach such arrogant who He is, and the lesson he needs to learn is the commandments that He gave through His beloved servant Moses.  "But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims,

A sight to take your breath away!

Grand processions of people

telling all the good things of God!

But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to." (Rom 10:17-21) The ones who hold the office are too busy doing everything perfect, except expositing the Word of God, for it is not in their priority. If we can check the appointments of the heads of the so-called church, it is more than visible, their priorities are something else, and such failed heads would harm the church more than its enemies. An uneducated man, who left the church, or of the other denomination, out of passion for word of God, risks his life, by renting a room amidst the hardcore pagan area, and wins a good number of souls shortly, whereas the Hi-fi rich, huge institutionalized church, not only not adds, but its membership and attending of empty rituals are declining rapidly. God chooses to honor an individual who puts his trust only in Him, than the project makers who never show that much interest in the preparation of sermon or homily. A single shepherd, who is willing to take a stone, and sling and run toward Goliath and the army of philistine, fully trusting God is dear to His heart, and hence He would remove Saul from office and establish David as the king over Israel. Allow me to remind a word from the mouth of our Master: "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8) David despite his personal sinfulness and failures convincingly declared and sang: "In You, O Lord, do I put my trust and confidently take refuge; let me never be put to shame or confusion!" (Ps 71:1) May we take serious effort to trust in Him and seek His shelter, so that we need not struggle with shame and confusion.

Abba, Thank You so much for the little faith you have given us a gift. Let You Spirit pour dew drops from heaven and make it grow, where birds of the sky may come and shelter, In Jesus’ Most Living Name, Amen.
