Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

HIS GREAT FAITHFULNESS

Life seems unbearable for people sometimes. They lose all home in mankind. They loose hope in themselves. They can’t see a ray of hope. All that they see is despair, disappointment, grief, loneliness, pain, betrayal. This is not an ordinary experience. God’s people always underwent such kind of things. But they never lost courage. Yes, they cried. They wept, they mourned. Jeremiah, in fact, even said, “Lord, you almost deceived me. Have I know that this would be the prophetic vocation, I would not have accepted. Such was the pain, thrown into a pit, getting mud, full of bruises, torture, shame, abandonment. It is in this situation, they say, this Book of Lamentation, the most beautiful book, came into existence. Lamentation 3:19- Bring to my mind my misery and anguish. It’s wormwood and the gall. My heart dwells on this continually and sings within me. This is what I shall keep within me, and so regain some hope. Surely,  Yahweh’s  mercies are not over. His deeds of faithful love, not exhausted. Every morning they are renewed. Great is His faithfulness. Yahweh is all I have, so I shall put hope in Him. Lord is all I have. Yes. What else you need? Friends are gone, parents are gone, family are gone. All who you trusted, they left you. You still have one. The most powerful one. Your Creator. The Commander of Armies of Angels. He is by your side. He is with you. He is watching over you, protecting you wherever you are.  That’s more than enough. Hasn’t He said, “even a mother might forget to nurse her baby, but I will not forget you. Even your father, your mother might forsake you, [but] not I.”? That’s all we need.

If we know that we have this God on our side, then, we can feel relaxed. Yahweh is good to those who trust Him, to all who search for Him. It’s good to wait in silence, for Yahweh to say . . . Waiting is a little hard for today’s generations, especially everting is touch-activated, or sense-activated. But you have to wait. Waiting on God gives you strength, makes you mature, energizes you for a spiritual battle.

It’s good to wait in silence for Yahweh to say, it’s good for someone to bear the yoke from young age. If you have a yoke from young age, it’s good. I remember when I was young, being trained in one of the schools, I used to ask my spiritual director, “Why am I getting yoke after yoke after yoke?” He said, “It is good. Sometime you will understand the pain of other people better. All this is given, so that you will be able to understand and heal, sympathize with them, and have compassion for those kind of people, who have no-one to speak to or understand. It’s for that God is permitting you to go through this. Kindly be grateful.”

To sit in solitude and silence. Solitude and silence, two things that are necessary for healing, especially for man. His life began in this two conditions. Solitude and silence. That is available in the mother’s womb. The loving cave. That’s why man need a cave to hide when he is broken. He doesn’t need friends, he needs a place of silence. He needs a place of solitude. Spend all your money. Go to that place. Sit in silence. Turn off all contact with the world. No newspaper, no news, no cellphone. Just sit in silence. Regain.

When it weighs heavy, to lay one’s head in the dust, maybe there is hope to offer one’s cheeks to the strike, to have one’s fill of disgrace. There are any number of strikers to slap you. Don’t be frightened of them. Show them the other cheek, as Jesus said, and the striker will be shamed, will be threatened, and run for life.

For the Lord will not reject anyone forever. If He brings grief, He will have pity. It’s like a wave, up and down, low and tide, morning and evening. If there is grief, wait for great mercy, great joy, jubilation, celebration, banquet.

Out of the fullness of His faithful love, for it is not for His own pleasure that he torments and grieves the human race. If God allows pain, it’s for a purpose. All pain has a purpose. If you have more pain, cry. No problem. Jesus was hanging on the cross and He was crying. “Why have you abandon me? "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” He said. So all men of God cried. Never be ashamed to cry. Power out your tears. When your heart is broken, tears well up from your eyes, uncontrollable. Nobody to touch your shoulder or extend a tissue, or say a good word. To this kind of people, God is so near.

Every morning, great is Your faithfulness. There are new

Let’s pray.
