The Lord is the friend of those who obey him and he affirms his covenant with them. Psalm 25:14-15

The Lord is the Friend

The Lord—He alone deserves that title because He is the Creator, He is the Redeemer, He is the Sustainer, so He alone can be addressed “the Lord.”

And an interesting thing is: such glorious mighty God allows us to call Him or claim Him as friend. Jesus, when He was on earth, told His disciples, “I am not calling servants, you are my friends. To friends, I will reveal my secrets. What I have received form My Father, I will reveal it to you.”

Of those who obey Him—so what is the condition that you can be, and become the friend of the Lord? Obedience. Go to Genesis. It was disobedience that separated  the first parents from the company and fellowship of God.

True living God, the Creator of human beings, heaven and earth, and He affirms His Covenant. There is a difference between covenant and contract. Contract can be cancelled, not covenant. Covenant is eternal.

God makes covenant with such people who obey Him.

David says, “I look to the Lord for help.” Yes, if you look to people or institutions or anything else for help, there are more possibilities that you will be disappointed. But when you look to the Lord for help at all times, day and night,, , 24/7 He rescues you from danger

Yes, anytime you need help, help of any kind, the only person you should look with confidence and trust is your Friend, to whom you obey, to that Lord who affirms covenant with you. And according to that Covenant, He will definitely be there to help you, to redeem you, to support you, to liberate you, and win for you a success on your behalf.

Loving Father, Thank You for being our Friend when we obey. Let Your Spirit give us enough obedience so that we can enjoy the Covenant and help at all times and be rescued form any and every danger, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
