Trust in the Lord. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Do Not Despair

Trust in the Lord—trusting as it might look is not an easy thing. If it were to be so everyone will do that. Only a believer who knows the real God, and believes in His love and forgiveness and grace, and believes in the power of the blood of Christ that cleanses, believes in the redemption which, hanging from the cross, Jesus wrought for us; believes in the abiding, indwelling spirt in the temple of the Holy Spirit, our body—only he can put trust in the Lord.

Abraham trusted, Noah trusted, Moses trusted, Elijah, Elisha,, Samuel, David, Solomon, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, all the prophets, and in the New Testament also, Apostles Peter, Paul, Barnabas, Philip,  Stephen—everybody trusted in the Lord. And that makes a difference in the Lord.

Have faith—when Jesus was on earth, all that He was demanding, in exchange to give a miracle as a gift was, a faith a small as a mastered seed, and told, “with that you can move mountains. You can ask a tree to be uprooted and planted in the sea. It will work.” But also said, sadly, “When the Son of Man returns, will He ever find faith on the face of the earth?”

Faith is a gift. We need to ask above everything else for faith. When we have faith, everything else is done.

Do not despair—yes, despair is a common experience of human being every day. When a thing goes wrong beyond our expectation, when our plans fail, when we get sick, when our expectations do not get success; when our marriage fail, friends abandon, jobs is at risk, children abandon; natural calamities—it is easy to despair.

But not for people who trust in the Lord. That’s why David again assures: trust in the Lord. He had enough of challenges, trials, enemies, fight, war and things like that. But, it was his trust in the Lord that saved him out of despair. Let’s have the attitude of David.

Loving Father, we are weak and fragile, at times due to situations we despair. Let Your Spirit help us trust in You so that we may overcome despair, have faith, and walk as victors. In Jesus’ Most Victorious Name, Amen.
