Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Law of Christ

Bear—we are living in an age of intolerance. People don’t bear so many things. They cannot bear another culture, they cannot bear another race,  they cannot bear another class,  they cannot bear another way of worship,  they cannot bear what not. …So many things.

As a Christian we need to bear. What God is asking through St. Paul is: bear one another’s burden. We need to bear one another’s burden. It’s going to benefit you also. When you have a burden they are going to carry that for you or bear that for you. It is mutual.

Christ bore all our sins, even though there was not a slightest sin in Him.

Isaiah 53:5 says “He bore our sicknesses, that ’s how we are healed.” Jesus hanged himself on the cross, took the entire punishment of the sins of entire humanity. That’s how salvation came to the world. That’s how we can enter into the seat of justice and mercy and approach God, calling “Abba” and get meritorious gifts and blessings from Him.

We need to bear. “Why should I?”— That is not a right attitude.

“Am I my brother’s keeper?” That’s how Cain asked when God was inquiring about Abel. …..No.
Christians has to bear…….

That’s how the early Church thrived. They bore with each other their burden. They shared not only time, not only fellowship, not only prayer, reflection of the gospel. …..No.

They bore, they shared their wealth even.

That should be the attitude that a Christian should bear.

And so fulfill the law of Christ.—Yes. “If you want to follow me, you need to bear a cross.” You can’t bear another’s burden,………it might definitely look like a cross or feel like a burden. But you should do that. Only then , you are a Christian. A Christian who is not willing to carry the cross, he’s not a Christian. Let’s have this beautiful attitude.

Right when we were born, our mothers bore for us, our teachers, our siblings, our relatives, our friends. We are what we are today because so many people were able to bear our burden, our temperaments or bad moods, our misbehaviors and weaknesses.

We need to be humble enough to bear with another person and support a person. Only then we fulfill the law of Christ. That is the commandment of God.

Abba, Thank You for Your Son bearing all the burden of humanity. Let Your Spirit enlighten us, and humble us so that we may follow His perfect example of bearing, that we may fulfill the law of Christ. In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
