So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Mt 7:12

The Law and the Prophets

Living a lonely life is not according to the will of God, and that’s why we need others - our parents, siblings, relatives, friends and individuals in society at large. But in order to have a happy and harmonious life with others we need to follow some rules. And to maintain personal relationships that are so precious, we have the Golden rule handed by Jesus: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Mt 7:12). Knowing the rule alone is not enough, we need to be thoughtful about the rule in all circumstances. Love, kindness, understanding, forgiveness and respect are some of the things we expect from others, hence we should be the first ones to extend these to others. Then our life will become a garden full of peace, joy and contentment.

Abba, thank You for asking us to prioritize the needs of others. Let Your Spirit make us remember this in our daily walk of life, in Jesus’ Most Loving Name, Amen.
